Garden Design
& Planting Services

Each year, myself, my colleagues and our industry friends have the pleasure of looking after a small handful of homeowners all who want to realise their own dream of a beautiful garden. Not only do we give homeowners ideas on how they can improve their spaces but we also plant English country gardens and spaces that evoke more of a coastal or Mediterranean feeling. Whether you're looking to improve a garden border, start again with an entirely new garden or a combination of many things we'd love to hear from you.

About our service & how the process works
Garden Design and Garden Planting
Like many things in life, a successful project is often delivered by a team of great people as opposed to one person only. This is very much true when creating a garden. That's why when it comes to designing or planting a garden rather than taking everything on ourselves, we propose that clients work not only with us, but also a selection of our industry friends all of whom have their individual skill areas.
Garden Consultation

All garden design and planting projects start with a Garden Consultation with one of the Leafy Lytham team. At this stage we can establish the basics like the rough size and scope of the project, your requirements and make some initial suggestions. Garden consultations are for everything from just border planting right through to full garden design and cost £100 including vat for a 1 hour visit.

Garden Planting Only

For solely planting design projects, following on from your garden consultation, the Leafy Lytham team will prepare a mod board and quotation for your works together with timescale. The plants will be supplied by our Garden Hub at Lytham Hall and planted as per our instructions by our friends at Jonathan Wildish Landscapes who we've worked with for the past five years. Afterwards you'll receive guidance on how to look after the display as well as the option to commission our seasonal displays team to complete seasonal maintenance and planting in the garden twice annually.

Waiting Times

It is worth noting that like many good contractors both Leafy Lytham and Mark Fenton have waiting lists. Leafy Lytham is taking on planting projects for Autumn 2026 and hosting Garden consultations with a wait of around 2 months. Most contractors we have worked alongside are fully booked for 2026. Mark's waiting list is currently to 6 months which is relatively standard in the industry. This means if you wish to have your garden designed for building in summer 2027 you should enquire soon.
Should you have any queries about planting or garden design, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us via our contact page.
Garden Design Projects

For Garden design projects, clients will work with Mark Fenton MSGD. Mark, a member of the Society of Garden Designers has been designing gardens for 21 years, has exhibited at Southport flower show and understands how good design can make a garden quite literally another room in the house. After your consultation with Leafy Lytham, Mark will arrange to meet with you (having been briefed by us) to discuss your garden with you in more detail and provide a design quotation and contract. Mark will design your garden on computer software and present the designs to you. If you decide to progress the design, Mark can suggest contractors to carry out the work depending on your budget and requirements. Mark will answer any design queries you or the contractor has.

Once Mark has completed the design of your garden structure, he will provide Leafy Lytham with details of where planting is required. Leafy Lytham will get back involved at this stage and work with you on your planting design and planting quotation. Once the landscaping is completed and beds are prepared, the plants will be supplied by our Garden Hub at Lytham Hall and planted as per our instructions by our friends at Jonathan Wildish Landscapes who we've worked with for the past five years. Afterwards you'll receive guidance on how to look after the display as well as the option to commission our seasonal displays team to complete seasonal maintenance and planting in the garden.
